Animal and Energy Healing
Animal Healing is a form of energy healing, the practice of clearing stuck energy and bringing balance back to an animal’s body, mind, heart and soul through safe, non-invasive and natural treatments. In my practice, I use an intuitive and investigative approach. I connect deeply to your pet’s energy to uncover where there is imbalance and what is negatively affecting them. To help correct this, I specialize in Universal Energy Healing using meditation and relaxation techniques, essential oils and medicinal herbs and extracts to clear stagnant energy, positively affect your pet and promote healing and wellness.
What happens during an energy healing session?
We open a healing session by sitting quietly on the floor. This is preferable since many pets cannot or do not like to be up on a table. It also allows the animal to move around if they wish. Through relaxation and meditation, we create a calm, loving, space (pet parents may participate if they wish) and ask permission to offer healing to the pet. I then connect to universal energy and channel this energy in a loving way for your pet’s highest and best good. I place my hands near or on your pet, sensing energy blocks or where negative energy may reside. I work to release and clear energy blockages so relaxation and balance is achieved.
Often I will use intuition or receive communication from your pet about what is off or what may help them. I close the session in gratitude and with the intention that healing will continue to benefit your pet in the days and weeks following the session.
How long does a session last?
The length of a session varies with each individual pet and what type of treatment is offered. With energy healing, a session may last anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes. Animals are much more sensitive and receptive to healing so longer is not always better. I always honor your pet by allowing him to determine when their session is complete.
Is the benefit of a distant session the same as an in person session?
Yes, the benefit is the same. Because energy work is based on intention and intuition I do not need to be in the same room or even the same country as my animal clients.
Do I have to be present and participate?
I invite and encourage pet parents to participate in all sessions, but do not require it. We will decide together what is best for your pet based on the issue being addressed, his needs and your preference.
What if my pet won’t sit still during a session?
It is not a requirement for a pet to be still for healing to be of benefit. In fact even a pet that is still for a long time during a session may get up, stretch, and walk around during energy healing. Some return to their original spot and some do not. This does not affect the quality of healing.
Aromatherapy for healing pets? Really? I thought those oils just smelled good.
Most people are familiar with aromatherapy because the oils smell good. Aromatherapy, however, is much more than that. It is an ancient practice of using essential oils for healing. These powerful substances heal at a physical, mental and emotional level. They are particularly effective in helping animals heal for two primary reasons: First, because animals are instinctively attracted to natural plants and minerals that will benefit them. Second, because an animal’s sense of smell is so powerful it takes very little scent of an oil for them to benefit (and because of this animal aromatherapy should only be offered to your pet by a trained practitioner).
What happens after a healing session?
Following a healing session, your pet may be more energetic or very relaxed and sleep more than usual after the treatment and for several days afterwards. Because the body is experiencing release at many levels, it is important to allow them more rest and offer plenty of water as the body excretes toxins released during healing. They may also urinate more frequently so be sure to offer more potty breaks than usual. If you, the pet parent, participated in the session all of this would apply for you as well.
My pet isn’t sick, can a healing session still be good for them?
Absolutely! An energy healing session is wonderful to keep pets healthy and whole, in much the same way as a massage may do the same for you. It is great for prevention of stress and illness or to prepare for any upcoming changes or medical treatments. Treat your pet to a spa day anytime with an energy healing session.
My pet is misbehaving, how can you help them with energy healing?
I do not believe there is such a thing as a bad pet. If your pet is misbehaving or their behavior has changed (for the worse), it’s likely they have something amiss. Pets cannot readily talk about how they feel so any changes in their health, environment, routine, family, stress level, etc. can be clues that something is wrong. And ill health can manifest in what we humans consider poor behavior. Healing helps your pet assimilate any changes in their life by helping them process their “emotions” and calming them down. It can also help point to where energy imbalances are which can then help uncover the underlying condition or cause.
